From your first on-site visit to your first flood irrigation, here’s exactly what to expect when getting your Backyard Zanjero device installed.
Your Backyard Zanjero Journey
Step 1 — Schedule your free on-site assessment
Book your free on-site visit through the website. We’ll collect a few details about your property and flood-irrigation setup so our team can prepare for your visit.
Step 2 — Site Assessment
A Backyard Zanjero technician will come to your home to inspect your existing valve and riser (PVC or concrete), discuss available models, and determine the best fit for your property.
We’ll also assess your sunlight exposure to see if solar charging is sufficient or if a reliable A/C trickle charger is needed for optimal battery performance.
Step 3 — Model Selection + Sales Agreement
After your assessment, we’ll recommend the right Backyard Zanjero model for your needs. Lisa will send you a simple Sales Agreement outlining your setup, cost, and estimated timeline. Once signed, you’ll officially enter our installation queue (typically 8–10 weeks).
Step 4 — Site Prep & Splash Pad Installation
We’ll prepare your installation area by anchoring around your existing riser and pouring a concrete splash pad for stability.

• Optional Add-On: Water Boy + Sleep Saver.
Base ensures your device stays level and secure for years to come.
Step 5 — Build, Bench Test & Installation
Each Backyard Zanjero device is built by hand, tested for precision, and powder-coated for durability.
Once ready, our technicians return to install and connect your device on-site, ensuring everything runs perfectly.
Step 6 — Setup & Scheduling
Depending on your model, setup will be done either online or directly at the device:
Online Models (Ace & Boss):
• We’ll create your Backyard Zanjero account for web or mobile scheduling, provide detailed setup instructions, and send email notifications when irrigation begins and ends.
On-Device Models (Water Boy & Sleep Saver):
• Our technician will show you how to program irrigation events manually at the unit.
Camera models allow live-stream video of your irrigation in real time — right from your phone or computer.
Step 7 — First Irrigation & Payment
We’ll schedule and monitor your first irrigation to ensure flawless performance. Once complete, we’ll send your invoice for payment.
